SINGAPORE: Three lucky SMRT taxi drivers had a
truly unexpected reunion dinner on Saturday.
They were honoured by the company for their
sacrifice on important dates such as the eve of the Lunar New
Year.
When 47-year-old Lim Choy Ann picked up his
passenger, little did he know he was in for a big
surprise.
Upon arriving at his passenger's destination - the
Singapore Flyer, Mr Lim was greeted by his family.
Mr Lim is one of three drivers treated to a
sumptuous reunion dinner in the Flyer's rotating
cabins.
They also received a red packet from Coca-Cola
Singapore to cover their earnings and the day's taxi rental
fee.
He said: "Initially I thought we were going to a
regular eatery, who would have thought we would be going to such a
posh place."
Senior executive for Public Affairs and
Communications at Coca-Cola Singapore, Tiffany Goh said: "This
Chinese New Year, we really want to bring some smiles and happiness
to a group of unsung heroes who ply our streets tirelessly every
day, even today on Chinese New Year's eve. So, we're really glad to
be able to surprise them with this unexpected reunion dinner
tonight."
